Antalis + Essential Eames

Two days ago, my class had some school trip planned and we went to this paper distributor called Antalis. They gave a 2-hour talk on the different kinds of paper and how it affects the overall feel of the product, etc. I swear, I almost died. Sitting there for a whole 2 hours! I have to admit, though, that I did learn quite a bit of things.

After that, came back to school for lesson. We had to partner up with someone, and write their name, incorporating three things into it. Li Min was just sitting beside me so we paired up. Well, we got to know each other from common foundation class so we are kinda close in a way. Here's my version of her name:

She likes sparkles and dogs, and hates to be late. We had to put it on the visualizer and present it to the class. The moment it was projected on the screen, both my lecturers went "woah!" (to be honest, I snickered a bit inside my head). Met up with Debbie and Nimi after lesson and went home together.

My ootd! I really, REALLY love this top.

Wednesday, I went for lessons looking like a hobo (laugh). We had a fire drill, but I just sat in the Pavilion and ate cup noodles cos I was too hungry. Everyone was going to the carpark but my class was just sitting there and eating.

My friends laughed at me but I told them, "I don't care if the school's gonna burn down, I'll still sit here and eat my cup noodles." Turned out, they laughed even more XD

I thought I'd go home straight after lessons so I wore my One Ok Rock tee and shorts. Seriously hobo mode. But my clique last minute wanted to go print stuff and I thought, heck, I have stuff to print too! And went with them.

Today was quite.. I don't really know how to describe it. It was great.. A little too smooth. I went for this exhibition called Essential Eames at ArtScience Museum. It was also a school trip. Charles and Ray Eames' works are really remarkable, but I'm not so much impressed as I was about Shiro Kuramata's works. (I had to research on Shiro Kuramata for an assignment).

The ticket, which we weren't allowed to keep (laugh).

This chair is one of their most famous works. Made of aluminium or steel I think. Lightweight for outdoors use, and you can add cushions or leatherbacks, or just leave it as it is. I thought it was a really smart design.

This white chair is super comfortable! I didn't want to stand up after I sat down xD

This is what I'm really impressed with! The exhibition itself. It's so pretty and clear-cut, how they put together the chair and all.

Overall, I'm most amazed by this. They cut out silhouettes of Eames' works and hung it from the ceiling. I thought it was really smart of them to make use of "fake shadows" and real shadows, playing with the lighting and all.

After the exhibition, Mimi and I went to Central to have dinner (cos I was super hungry), and we both have buses home from Clarke Quay so, hey, why not, right? I really liked the time talking to her and all. I never really had the chance to talk to her much because when I ask her to join me for lunch, she already has stuff planned, and vice versa. So this time walking to Central and talking to her as we have dinner was a really nice time. She's known to be quite anti-social in class but surprisingly, she talks to me. Guess she likes me (laugh).

Ootd in the MBS toilet! (Laugh) I think I overdressed a little though... I kept getting stares today in school. Happens all the time I wear a skirt. Why? I don't know! There're so many other girls wearing skirts and they don't get stared at.

Oh, and another thing I don't understand - how girls can look casual in a skirt. It never works like that for me and I don't think that you're supposed to look casual when you wear a skirt.

I'm also starting to think that it might not be such a bad thing being stuck in product design. I see people stressing over assignments when I think that the assignments given are quite easy. Maybe God put me in product design for this reason. Hell naw!! (Laugh)

That's all for today, I guess. Sayou~!

Blonde For A Day + Updates

Just a few days before school started, I had blonde hair. Yes, I went blonde! But only for a day. I was actually going for dark brown but somehow, the salon didn't give me the correct colour. Or rather, it didn't come out dark drown. Went with Cassandra (credit her for the photos).

After bleaching. SO YELLOW! =_=

Yes, I know, the photo is blur but I don't have another photo. The one on my insta is clearer though. Went around shopping for stuff after that.

The next day, went shopping! Bought hair dye to diy it back to the colour I wanted. Also went to walk around to find nice clothes (laugh). I'm so in need of new clothes, I'm not even joking. Since Cassandra was looking for new clothes, we went shopping together.

So the next day, we went for even more shopping! Went to Somerset 313 first. Dip Drops had this set, a knit top and a chiffon skirt set for $49! And they even have a free ribbon matching the skirt! Super cute!! Cassandra has a photo of it here. The one to the extreme right. We bought matching ones. Mine's a beige knit sweater and the skirt is beige with pink stripes.

Then we walked around and went to Plaza Singapura. I just bought a cardigan at JRunway a few days ago and wore it on the day we went to do our hair. Since we were in town, we went ahead. She bought the same cardigan I did and I bought a white long-sleeved top (will be shown in photos later). Super cheap! $20+! Definitely worth it! And Sasa was having sale so we bought masks.

Our loot of the day.

A photo to commemorate my blonde hair (laugh).

School started yesterday and I had to stay back to decorate my classroom. But someone painted this on my teacher's shirt:

My teacher has #swag. HAHAHA! And he doesn't even know what they wrote on his back xD

My take on the wall painting.

The guys' side of the wall.

The girls' side of the wall. We all had fun and I had to admit, I didn't want to stay because I was going to meet Geraldine for dinner. But I left early (laugh). So I went to Colours after painting the room, and I found these. Unexpected surprise.

My silkscreen and linocut prints! Being exhibited in Colours! The only time I actually felt proud of myself. And met Geraldine there to go out together. We went shopping and then had dinner at Somerset.

Cineleisure - Shokudo dinner: Seafood Cheesy Pizza!

And waffles with banana and chocolate sauce for dessert. After that, we went to 313 and walked around a little more.

Our ootd! The top I bought from JRunway. Definitely loving it!!

Tomorrow was Geraldine's birthday and so I went to celebrate it with her today, together with Pheng Siong, Ayumi, Yijun, Huiling and Jia hern. Went to City Square Mall's Aston's for lunch, then had cake!

Her birthday cake. So cute!!

Then we went to Marina Square for pool! Then had dinner at Cineleisure Shokudo again. This time, I had Salmon Avocado Cheesy Pizza. After that, went up to FemmeX to get this top:

Actually taken yesterday but couldn't decide whether I should buy or not. Went to buy it anyway (laugh). Super nice but have to show tummy ): Bought it anyway. XDD

School again tomorrow and I'm DEFINITELY not looking forward to it. Deep sigh. Shall end here because I had a long day. Sayou~
